GENERAL APPEARANCE: Aro is a pale skinned vampire with milky red eyes and long dark brown, almost black hair that falls to his shoulder blades. He stands at about 5'10 and is very willowy as well as spry and agile. Aro's clothes consist of expensive Italian suits with dress shoes and a necklace to show his status. The Italian suits are black to show he is of the highest status within the Volturi.

HISTORY: Aro was born sometime in 1300 B.C. in Greece. His sister was born a few years after him. Aro grew up like any child in 1300 B.C. Greece, nothing really exciting happened. For years Aro learned how to be a man.

When he was in his 20s, Aro was turned into a vampire an unknown vampire. Once Aro learned the ropes of being a vampire he and his Sire departed. After that Aro began seeking out other vampires that he could start a coven with. He first came across Marcus and was really interested in his ability of being able to sense relationships and would be able to sniff out traitors. The two came together and created the Volturi.

Fifteen years after Aro became a vampire he returned for his sister and turned her. Once she was a vampire she fell in love with Marcus. Aro did not like the fact that Didyme was dragging Marcus away from him, but he loved his sister too much to do anything about it. Shortly afterwards they three of them came across Caius and a female vampire named Athendodora.

Aro extended an invitation to the two to join him which they accepted. Together Aro, Marcus, and Caius created the three leaders of the Volturi. As the years passed they came across more and more vampires with supernatural abilities. Among these are Jane, Alec, Renata, and Corin. These vampires are so important to Aro that he will never let them go.

Aro watched as some vampires joined his coven and some left. He even killed a few that sought to expose the vampires or betray him. One such vampire that left his coven of his own free will was Eleazar who found his mate in Carmen. Aro didn't like losing them, but he felt that Eleazar would return to him one day.

One major event in Aro's vampiric life was that of the Immortal Children. These children were bitten while still in their infancy/toddler stage. They could not learn and could not grow and therefore could not keep the secret. It became outlawed for any Immortal Child to be made and anyone associated with them would be killed. Only three known vampires have ever escaped this fate because Aro had been compassionate that day.

After the Immortal Child era, Aro had two of them stay with him for a short time just so he could learn from them, but after some time they too were killed. Aro spends his time learning and acquiring new talents and if one of his current talents is ousted by something new and better than he will let that vampire go with his blessing.

RP SAMPLE: Aro stared down at the vampire in front of him. Murderous rage coursed through the ancient vampire as he listened to what the crimes were. Conspiring against the Volturi, nearly exposing their kind, AND to top it all off tried to play off that Immortal Children had not been involved. Aro's face was a mask of nothingness. He had spent years perfecting the emotionless face, but as the vampire in front of him was about to die his face changed to express his rage.

Before being brought to Aro, Jane had used her power to punish the vampire. Finally, it was time for the accused to die. Two lower ranking Volturi Guard grabbed the arms while Aro grabbed the head. In less than a second the vampire was torn to bits and burned. If Aro had been human he would have taken a seat and placed his forehead in the tips of his fingers as if to rub a migraine away. At this current moment, Aro felt vulnerable. After the ashes of the deceased vampire were removed Aro retreated to his private chambers.

He did not come here often as he did not need to sleep. Sometimes Aro just wanted to escape, but he never made this know to the other vampires. The only exception to this was his sister, Didyme, who was always there to try to cheer her brother up. Most of the time it worked, but nearly being exposed and the thought of Immortal Children did not seem to calm him down any. He thanked his sister for trying and watched as she departed from his room. The expensive Italian suit felt filthy now, after the execution of the vampire traitor. Aro quickly changed and rejoined his brothers in the "throne" room.
