It is the year 2020. After much hoping, after much praying and much tragedy, the withdrawal of U.S. and British Forces from the Middle East has finally begun. Families reunite, as soldiers slowly but surely are returning to their loved ones after the death toll has simply risen too high. But despite everybody's relief, there's tension - as if the return of troops to home is too good to be true.
And the tension proves to be well-placed. At the exact same time, on July 23rd 2020, several terrorist attacks are executed at exactly the same time across the world. In Afghanistan, a convoy of Marines traveling to return home are killed by remote control missiles. In London, a very significant SIS analyst is shot in the head at close range on his way home. In D.C., an attempt is made on the Vice President's life. And at JFK airport, a car bomb is set off just outside of the terminal.
Will our troops ever get to come home at last? Will our intelligence units be able to find the identity of this new organisations? And are we really safe when vampires, werewolves, angels and demons are among those keeping us safe in our beds?
